Introducing the PRF method, now used in all ADG clinics
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a biomaterial made from patients’ own blood, and includes platelets (also called thrombocytes), which are blood cell fragments that circulate in the blood and contain a component necessary for tissue growth: fibrin, a protein that promotes blood clotting.
After years of using this method at Rident and Salona clinics, starting last week our ARENA clinic received its own blood centrifuge device and began using the PRF method itself.
We know that our bodies have amazing regenerative capabilities. Modern dental medicine uses that regenerative potential in the patient’s blood to promote better wound healing and tissue regeneration. A small amount of blood is necessary, and using a blood centrifuge device we can then separate the platelets rich in fibrin that we then apply directly to the surgical wound.
The benefit of this method is that the rich fibrin reduces postoperative pain, greatly reduces risk of infection, and speeds up wound healing and tissue regeneration.
To provide our patients with the most modern, high-quality dental services possible, Adria Dental Group strives to continually upgrade its technology, educate its staff, and exchange knowledge and experiences wherever possible.
